HOW TO KEEP MOSQUITOES AWAY
Mosquitoes can lay eggs in as little as a teaspoon of water 3 , an amount that can easily collect in the bottom of a flower pot or even a bottle cap. That's why taking care of standing water sources near your home is so important to help get rid of mosquitoes.

• Empty all objects that can collect water once a week. That includes tires, buckets, flower pots, toys, birdbaths, flower pot trays and trash cans. You can also turn, cover, or punch holes in these items so water doesn't collect.
• Change the water in your birdbath at least once a week.
• If you have a fish pond, make sure the filter is working efficiently to keep the water moving.
• Remove leaves and debris from gutters to ensure water flows freely.
• Cover water storage containers well so mosquitoes can't get in to lay eggs.
• Cut back vegetation to help reduce shady areas near your home where mosquitoes prefer to hide from direct sunlight.

KEEP THE MOSQUITOES OUT
To keep mosquitoes out where they belong, make sure you have screens on all doors and windows. When entering or leaving your house, close the door quickly to make it more difficult for these small insects to enter. And remember that damaged screens are an open invitation for mosquitoes to come in and make themselves at home. So make sure you repair the holes in your screens right away.
